Last year we created an online workshop and reading of Pandora, allowing us to develop this play — and expand our understanding of creating and presenting inventive stories in the virtual world. Since then, Laurel has done fantastic work on the script and our partnership with the Getty Villa has provided us the chance to revisit this wonderful story, along with what we’ve learned over the past months about presenting exciting works in this new medium.

The play “Pandora” will be presented in a virtual reading by Theatreworks Silicon Valley and The Getty Museum.
Playwright Laurel Ollstein’s “Pandora,” a feminist spin on “Pandora’s box” — the classical myth of the newly created woman and her impact on humanity — is getting another virtual presentation by TheatreWorks Silicon Valley, this time in conjunction with the Getty Museum.
The revised virtual reading of “Pandora,” with Kacie Rogers in the title role, is available to stream for free on the Getty’s website through March 19 (registration required).
“Pandora” is part of the Getty Villa Museum’s theater program, presenting reinterpretations of classical stories.
